Why film?

Film is finite, doesn’t give immediate gratification, and therefore each frame is very precious. I do my best not to waste it. I look and think and examine my subjects. Film is my tool to live the moment, be fully present, and truly mindful. It’s my meditation, self-expression, and a counterweight to the modern lifestyle.

Tools

I shoot mostly with Nikon N65. Vivid colors mesmerize me, so Kodak Ektar is my favorite film. Kodak T-Max and Fujifilm Acros are my two favorites for black & white photography.

Who am I?

I was born in 1986 in Kyiv, Ukraine. I have a Master’s Degree in Acoustical Engineering, but most of my career I’ve been working in the IT industry. I’m an engineer and entrepreneur with a crazy amount of different interests and hobbies.

I’m now splitting my time between San Jose and Venice, CA.
